Title: "Just Don't Eat the Apple"
Air Date: November 15, 2007
On day twenty five, James reflected on night twenty four
At Tribal Council's end, he experienced a "narrow escape"
Coming equipped with idols had seemed a needless chore
For the majority wished to see Jean-Robert's mouth agape
That he received three votes at Tribal was too close a call
James confided that he would have to mind his "P's & Q's"
Additionally, to each and every Tribal his idols he shall haul
Twas the difference between nothing and everything to lose
James was frying fish, as in a nearby tree, a monkey slept
Sleeping as well were the other seven from Hae Da Fung
Toward his slumbering tribe mates, James quietly crept
"Good morning!", James sung, fully utilizing each lung
The suddenly wide-awake monkey darted from the tree
On continuing with his wake-up call, James would insist
Nobody seemed to mind that James was singing off key
Especially not Courtney, who heralded, "it's Christmas!"
That there was "no Jean-Robert" was to Courtney's relief
He had been a thorn in her side from the start of the game
Denise's expression read something closer to "good grief!"
For in keeping with the plan, she'd written Peih-Gee's name
Amanda and Courtney noticed icy stares coming their way
Denise let her eyes relay the fact that she was not pleased
It made Amanda nervous, for now Denise may well sway
A bit later, Denise's displeasure was somewhat appeased
Between James and Denise, the prior vote was discussed
A sense she was flipping, said James, left them no choice
Denise said in her loyalty the former Fei Long could trust
"You are so safe", insisted James, in a reassuring voice
On day twenty six, James was preparing a morning meal
Over his shoulder, an enthusiastic Peih-Gee was looking
In her energetic desire to assist, James found no appeal
He preferred Peih-Gee not "micro-manage" his cooking
Sitting nearby, Courtney and Frosti shared an embrace
For Todd, their growing fondness was cause for worry
He was afraid that Courtney may attempt an about-face
Later, back to camp Amanda and Peih-Gee would hurry
Once they reached camp, Amanda called out,"treemail!"
They were informed "an experience of a lifetime" awaited
"A feast of sights" will feed the "souls" of those to prevail
In addition, their hunger pangs will be temporarily abated
Along with treemail's message, a drum was included
How it played into the challenge, they could not detect
That they "better be on the ball" was easily concluded
To the next battle, with drum in tow, the tribe trekked
Peih-Gee wished and hoped for a victory to celebrate
"I'm the losing-est survivor in the game", she confided
Jeff's customary "come on in, guys" greeted the eight
Into two teams of four, they will once again be divided
Four different sized drums, to each team, will be assigned
Bouncing from drum to drum, a ball must be kept in the air
Before them, several obstacles, and two gates, they'll find
Each team will have to negotiate the course with great care
If the ball drops to the ground, to the start they must return
If it drops past a second gate, at that gate they'll begin anew
If they're first to drop it into a "finish bin", a point they'll earn
But first, another schoolyard pick they must be put through
"A spectacular cruise on the Lei river", one team will win
After a "nice dinner", a night on the boat they will spend
In the morning, they'll return to Hae Da Fung once again
They'd now see who'd be left standing alone at the end
As captains, Erik and Peih-Gee were randomly chosen
For teams yellow and red, respectively, they would lead
With understandable apprehension, Denise was frozen
Peih-Gee was up first, choosing James with great speed
Erik selected Frosti to assist with the bouncing of the ball
James decided upon Todd, who walked over to a mat of red
For team yellow, Frosti chose to give Amanda's name a call
Todd chose Denise, leaving Courtney to stand solo, instead
Courtney walked to a mat of yellow, as Amanda's only pick
Each member of teams yellow and red took a drum in hand
Both Erik and Todd bounced a ball to the first obstacle quick
Frosti caught Erik's, yet on the ground James' catch did land
Back to the starting line, by Jeff, team red was commanded
After reaching gate number one, team yellow passed under
Frosti's ball got away from him, and on the ground it landed
As James' second attempt at a first obstacle went asunder
Back to gate one went yellow, as back to the start went red
Frosti bounced the ball to Erik, who took it through gate two
Erik passed it back to Frosti, who would then carefully tread
Meanwhile, team red still appeared hopelessly without a clue
Frosti's ball bounced upon his drum, right up to a final fence
At cautiously passing the ball to Erik, Frosti would succeed
Erik bounced it into a finish bin, which made team red tense
With one point scored, two more was all yellow would need
After many attempts, team red was back where they started
The four seemed unable to drum up the needed coordination
Additionally, James' performance appeared a bit half-hearted
Which allotted to Phei-Gee a mounting sense of frustration
Team yellow, on the other hand, was making great strides
Their second attempt at the course mirrored their first run
As team red's ball continued having the bumpiest of rides
Frosti arrived at a yellow bin, and a second point was won
After much trial and error, team red made it to a finish bin
However, James lost the ball, and to gate two they'd retreat
Ultimately, Erik and Frosti would secure team yellow a win
Having scored nary a point, team red went down in defeat
On a cruise, Erik, Frosti, Amanda and Courtney embarked
As back to camp hiked Denise, Todd, Peih-Gee and James
Once at Hae Da Fung, Peih-Gee's displeasure was harked
A perceived lack of effort compelled her to name names
Peih-Gee lit into James, accusing him of moving too slow
Saying she was quick to blame, James replied, "go away"
Since Peih-Gee threw a challenge, he thought it a low blow
"How dare you" and "shut up" was all James cared to say
To cool her anger, Peih-Gee said she had to take a walk
She literally cooled off as well, after jumping into the lake
To disappointment, her accusatory words were chalked
Having incurred another loss was just too much to take
Back at camp, Denise and James discussed the outburst
James could not believe on him Peih-Gee put the blame
The former Zhan Hu, he added, would need to exit first
They both hoped Courtney was playing the same game
That Courtney and Frosti were close pals was a concern
James felt with nothing should his allies have to grapple
He hoped no one from Fei Long would be tempted to turn
In a confessional, James plead, "just don't eat the apple"
Todd, meanwhile, observed, much like a monkey in a tree
To Peih-Gee's ranting, and stormy exit, he'd been a witness
He noticed Denise and James' paranoia, regarding Courtney
The four tribe mates currently on a cruise, Todd would miss
Steadily, past water buffalo, the reward winners would float
Frosti, Erik, Courtney and Amanda took in the scenic view
Erik intended to make use of his time on the beautiful boat
Succeeding in building relationships is what he hoped to do
On a substantial snack, the champions made an assualt
Opinions of Peih-Gee's disposition, two would dispense
If losing had her tired, said Courtney, it was her own fault
For her, said Amanda, Peih-Gee was simply "too intense"
That they focused on Peih-Gee, Erik minded not the least
Afterwards, Courtney and Frosti put on a playful display
Later, the four enjoyed a home-style fried chicken feast
For the challenge winners, it had been an eventful day
Courtney was perplexed by her friendship with Frosti
She regarded her younger tribe mate as "kind of cute"
Frosti placed her in a "league" that did not include he
Yet an attraction to Courtney, Frosti could not refute
Far into the game, Amanda hoped to see Erik advance
He won her over with an uncanny impression of a goat
Erik felt the bonds he formed gave him a fighting chance
While Frosti began to sense he sat alone in a sinking boat
In the morning, the reward winners were dropped ashore
Details of the fried chicken feast, they decided not to share
Amanda said they ate Chinese food, as they'd done before
Still, for some, the description was almost too much to bear
Later, the reward winners, and Todd, cooled off in the lake
With Tribal Council looming, they discussed whom to peck
Erik was relieved that Peih-Gee was their choice to forsake
Unless, he realized, immunity was placed around her neck
To a challenge they would hike, with the sun high in the sky
Jeff greeted the tribe, saying their memory would be tested
In order to secure immunity, on recall they will need to rely
Paying close attention, said Jeff, could be time well invested
Before them were eight boards, their stations for the bout
Within the grids atop each board, symbols had been placed
The Chinese Zodiac was represented in images throughout
With rams and tigers, to name a few, the boards were graced
A list of several Zodiac symbols, per round, Jeff would call
Using a knife, each corresponding symbol they must pierce
In the order the symbols were called, the knife's tip must fall
Peih-Gee's look of desperate determination was quite fierce
The last one standing wins a reprieve from Tribal's reach
However, if Tribal's reach was not something they feared
A dozen burgers, and a pile of fries, were offered to each
Half the survivors groaned, and the other half cheered
Each was handed a coin of black, and a coin of white
If they wished to eat, a black coin they'll need display
Though if they fear the next Tribal might be their night
They'll need display a white coin, meaning they'll play
Competing were Amanda, Erik, Frosti and Peih-Gee
James, Courtney, Todd and Denise would bow out
The four would participate in a food shoveling spree
For they could eat only for the duration of the bout
To the rest, Jeff called "tiger, rabbit, rat, monkey, dog"
In the correct order, all except Erik stabbed each card
Erik was forced to witness four impressions of a hog
On a new list, the remaining three concentrated hard
In round two, Jeff called "rat, ram, dragon, rooster, ram"
This time, Amanda's cards were not one and the same
Into the frantic feeders mouths, food they would cram
For in round three, only two contenders would remain
"Snake, rat, rabbit, tiger, rooster, ram", Jeff then recited
Frosti and Peih-Gee nervously awaited Jeff's inspection
In stabbing the correct order, Peih-Gee happily delighted
Her joy grew upon learning Frosti erred in his recollection
"Peih-Gee wins immunity!", Jeff would officially declare
All burgers, fries and sodas he demanded be unhanded
At the upcoming Tribal Council, a necklace she'd wear
Into in a precarious position, Erik believed he'd landed
Back at camp, Frosti wasn't pleased with those who ate
He took a risk by playing, and from it, nothing had come
Twelve days left, and for a hamburger they could not wait
On Frosti's ordinarily happy face, the expression read glum
Erik, sensing his number was up, wished Frosti "good luck"
Uncertain of his own safety as well, Frosti answered in kind
Somewhere close to the bottom of the ladder, Erik felt stuck
Peih-Gee's immunity win put him in a most vulnerable bind
Regarding Erik, a bit later, Frosti had a discussion with Todd
Frosti told him to watch out for Erik, and his ability to charm
Saying he was on to Erik's disarming way, Todd gave a nod
The "good old country boy", said Todd, could do them harm
For Todd, the upcoming vote would be his most difficult yet
Were Erik to reach the end, he'd win the game "hands down"
Still, Frosti's potential to win immunity, he should not forget
"It's a toss-up", Todd would confide, with a perplexed frown
Todd spoke with Denise and James, beside the campfire
All three were unsure Courtney would write Frosti's name
Therefore, said Todd, her torch they just may need to retire
He hoped a discussion with Courtney would not be in vain
Todd approached Courtney, and in private, they would speak
That her allies doubted her commitment, she was made aware
Todd did not sufficiently receive the assurance he would seek
When they departed for Tribal, the vote appeared up in the air
They reached the ritual's pagoda, and, by Jeff, were greeted
Eight torches were customarily situated, upon their arrival
Jaime and Jean-Robert entered; to jury seats they proceeded
Their task was to silently observe night twenty seven's Tribal
Jeff mentioned the challenge, which to hunger had appealed
Out of everyone, he was most surprised James chose to eat
That he ate seven of twelve burgers, James readily revealed
He had sworn off the apple, but, as he said, "that was meat"
Jeff told Todd he'd passed on a one in seven opportunity
"The fat kid inside", said Todd, insisted he stuff his face
Jeff asked Frosti about his choice to fight for immunity
Frosti said he'll know he tried, if a snuffing be the case
Jeff asked Erik if those who chose to feast lacked fear
Choosing to eat, said Erik, signaled safety, in his view
Jeff asked Erik where he stood, as the vote drew near
Erik was almost certain his China days were through
Jeff asked Amanda about friendship versus strategy
Juggling the "separate paths", replied she, was rough
Jeff asked Denise if, from a friend, she'd expect loyalty
Denise said finding one to completely trust was tough
Jeff said the time was nigh for the votes to be cast
Either Erik, Frosti, or Courtney, it was sure to be
The game's youngest lost his chance to outlast
The torch that Jeff snuffed belonged to Frosti
From Tribal Council, only Frosti would depart
For the remaining seven, business awaited
A sense of dread struck each in the heart
They knew not for what they were fated
FROSTI
